On July 26, the 2025 World AI Conference & High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance (WAIC2025) grandly opened in Shanghai. With the theme "Global Solidarity, In The AI Era", this year's conference comprehensively showcased the latest achievements in global AI technological breakthroughs, industrial transformation, and governance practices. On the afternoon of the 26th, the "2025 WAIC Plenary Session·Scientific Frontier" was held. It brought together top scholars and industry pioneers in the global artificial intelligence field, including Nobel Prize and Turing Award winner Geoffrey Hinton, 2024 Turing Award laureate and Professor of Computer Science at the University of Alberta Richard Sutton, as well as leading domestic artificial intelligence scientists. Meanwhile, Professor Richard Sutton shared a landmark view titled "Welcome to the Era of Experience": AI is leaving the "Age of Human Data" and entering the "Experience-Driven Era". When static corpora approach their limits, the core data in the future can only come from real-time interaction between intelligent agents and the environment, continuous trial and error, and closed-loop updates. AlphaGo's "37th move" has proven that truly disruptive strategies can only be born from self-generated experience, not human priors.

Professor Richard Sutton is a pioneer in the field of reinforcement learning. His book "Reinforcement Learning: An Introduction" has always been one of the most classic textbooks in the field of reinforcement learning. As a foundational work in this field, this book has created a new pattern for artificial intelligence. Its Chinese version "Reinforcement Learning" was translated by Kai Yu and is popular among artificial intelligence technology workers.
